My father is originally from Nagasaki (south of Japan) and mother from Aomori (north of Japan) and I had grown up in Aichi ( middle of Japan). In Aichi and Nagasaki, we have Osechi on 1JAN for lunch and in Aomori we start to eat between 31DEC and 1JAN for midnight party. Osechi is not for one meal we continue to eat until end and normally takes 3 days.(hahaha, it’s same as Salma here ) In Japan it’s holiday 1-3JAN so mama and grandma can take little rest during this Osechi left over time
I wish you all the best 2021!!!!
