Let’s MOCHI TSUKI together!!!!
We Japanese pound rice to make traditional Japanese cakes “mochi” for the celebrations for good luck.
In Japan rice plant has had sacred meaning since long time ago. We think rice is a special gift from Kami-sama (Japanese god) and “mochi” has additional power than rice itself.
People gather, pound rice with excitement, laugh and create good vibe. Even people don’t know the meanings, when the rice grains getting sticky people start to feel a sense of unity and transfer their positive energy and wishes into the mochi.
We make round shape with this freshly made mochi and eat together. Always it’s same ingredients and process but I feel something special flavors in each time.
